About the Performance
Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite is one of the most acclaimed films of the century — winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture and the Palme d’Or, and named by The New York Times among the best films of the 21st century.
Jung Jae-il’s score is central to it: spare, elegant and quietly unsettling, carrying the film from comedy to horror without ever announcing the turn.
In this concert the complete film screens with English subtitles while the Orchestra performs the score live. Concert Lab has produced the work with Orchestra Victoria for the Melbourne International Film Festival and at the Sydney Opera House, on both occasions with Jung Jae-il himself conducting and performing from the stage.
